Nina and Owen, a couple from Switzerland, chose Hydra for its unique character, timeless beauty, and relaxed atmosphere, an ideal setting for an intimate and elegant wedding experience.

Hydra is one of the most distinctive islands in Greece. Known for its rich history, preserved architecture, and the absence of cars, it offers a rare sense of authenticity and calm.Transport on the island is entirely on foot or by boat, which creates a slower rhythm and a more immersive experience for both the couple and their guests.The island’s stone mansions, narrow streets, and views over the Aegean Sea provide a timeless backdrop, perfect for an elegant wedding.
A Three-Day Wedding Celebration
The wedding unfolded over three days, allowing everyone to fully experience the island and enjoy each moment without rush.
The celebrations began with a pre-wedding gathering, where guests from different countries came together and connected which is something that I appreciate most about destination weddings, the coming together of people from all over the world.
The wedding day itself was filled with genuine emotion and an atmosphere that felt both intimate and vibrant. The party was intense and full of energy. The following day, the celebrations continued with a white party .
A Personal Connection
Owen and Nina were incredibly kind, open, and easy to work with. A few months after the wedding, they invited me to Switzerland to photograph their beautiful hotel in the Alps, something I truly appreciated and a reminder of the relationships that can grow through this work. Update: They invited me back the following year to photograph new areas of the hotel,I couldn’t have been happier to work with this wonderful couple again.
